![]() Meanwhile, the character, played by Kellie Bright is also involved in the soap's big festive murder mystery. Nancy was involved in some gripping storylines, including the rape of her mother, her battle with epilepsy and the coming out struggle of her brother Johnny, a role played initially by SAM STRIKE. It seems that Linda will need all the support she can get this Christmas, marking the first anniversary of Mick's disappearance. The role of Johnny Carter was previously played by Sam Strike. On his return in 2016, Johnny rejoined his family at a difficult time, after Linda was raped and his brother Lee struggled with depression. ACTOR Ted Reilly will soon be seen in EastEnders as the new Johnny Carter, and has tweeted his first picture on set in the Queen Vic. He first left Albert Square to pursue love, moving to Italy to spend time with his boyfriend Gianluca. Johnny was at the centre of some pretty dramatic storylines during his time in Walford, including an emotional coming-out story that brought him closer together with his mum and dad. Viewers last saw Johnny in January 2018, with fans surprised when he and his siblings Nancy (Maddy Hill) and Lee (Danny-Boy Hatchard) didn't return to Walford following Mick's tragic disappearance last Christmas. "Since his short time away, the Carter family dynamics have changed significantly, and it's safe to say that Johnny will be returning to a very different Walford than the one he left." She’s already (unfortunately) linked to the Brannings. It would be interesting if Linda was partially absorbed into the Fox/Branning family while they are resting the Carters. We know by now that Clenshaw likes planting Easter Eggs and foreshadowing things, so it wouldn’t be a shock to me if that’s where they’re going with it (plus it would have been Patrick who had stopped Linda choosing the Panesars or Sharon, so would be partly responsible for Elaine’s return). I was just thinking that it would sort of make sense because of Linda’s business partnership with the Fox sisters and her newfound friendship with Patrick. As mentioned above, Sheree was a lot younger than Patrick, so perhaps it wouldn’t be too jarring. I always pictured her and Linda’s dad being a bit older when they had Linda. Maria Friedman is 62 which makes her 16 years older than Kellie Bright, but I don’t remember it being mentioned that Elaine was a teen mum. I’m not sure what age Elaine is meant to be. If they are bringing back Elaine I really hope it’s not Maria Friedman. I would love Patrick as Linda’s stepdad, but I don’t think a family tie is necessary for their nice little friendship to continue. It would be self-defeating to come back to die!ġ9:47 - Feb 24I wonder if they’re thinking of bringing back Elaine and pairing her with Patrick. He probably sees Max as his safety net and retirement. I can't see them killing him off though because, primarily, I don't think Jake Wood would agree to come back (after being axed) only for his character to be permanently written out. ![]() ![]() I think Max will be reintroduced this year as a potential victim. It's another EastEnders recasting as Charlie Suff becomes the latest actor to play Johnny Carter following in the footsteps of Sam Strike and Ted Reilly on the BBC show. I do think Max will be involved in this story somehow though. Ultimately though it wouldn’t make sense for her to ask Max to run the vic with her, especially choosing him over Sharon. Yeah for those reasons it wouldn’t make any sense, my only way of thinking around that was she was avoiding any contact with Max for Mick’s benefit and now Mick’s not around… It really can only be Johnny, Lee, Elaine or Nancy on that basis. ![]() It has to be a dear friend or family member. Linda was petrified of Max finding out about Annie and now she's without Mick, the last thing she'll want is a constant reminder of what (in part) pulled them apart and ultimately led to his death. This is someone she said she could run the pub with - she's not looking for them to be a silent partner. I don't think there's any way Linda would even want to talk to Max, let alone invite him into her home. In the flashforward scene the ‘knight’ is directly behind Stacey, which is another reason I think it could be him. 18:55 - Feb 24I’m not 100% sure but I think its Max. ![]()
